Kawaii: The word 'kawaii' (in the Japanese romanji form) is derived from 可愛い in the Japanese language, which is written in the kanji form (that was originally adopted from Chinese). Kawaii can be translated to mean 'cute' or 'cuteness'. According to wikipedia, "Cute elements can be found almost everywhere in Japan, from big business to corner markets and national government, ward, and town offices."

Couture: The word 'couture' simply means high fashion and dressmaking.
